THE 'W' DILEMMA
My last name starts with 'W'.
It stands for 'Woe is me'.
'Cause bookstores sort
by author's name,
...alphabetically
While 'A' names get top billing
and middle 'M's are fine,
I'm always on the bottom
getting shoe marks
on my spine.
Wedged down here,
between the best,
I'm in good company.
'Cause when folks stoop
for E.B. White,
they just might notice me.
